Final Fantasy XIII-2 is a roleplaying game developed by Square Enix and is part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy subseries. It is a direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII and is followed up by Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, which ends the trilogy. Unlike its predecessor, Final Fantasy XIII-2 deals with time travel and alternate timelines.
