LEGO Dimensions is an action-adventure game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and released in late September 2015 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. It follows the "toys-to-life" format, in that the player has physical LEGO figures and a portal which can be played within the game itself. The game's portal is also interactive, in that certain actions in-game require the player to move his active pieces around in the real world between the portal's three segments.
The game features characters and environments from 14 different franchises, with more franchises planned to be added post launch, though these brands have yet to be named. Various actors such as Will Arnett, Sean Astin, Elizabeth Banks, John Barrowman, Alison Brie, Peter Capaldi, Michael J. Fox, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Matthew Lillard, Christopher Lloyd, Ellen McLain, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman, Chris Pratt, and John Rhys-Davies reprising their respective roles. J.B. Blanc and Liam O'Brien served as voice directors.
It is considered to be in direct competition with the Spyro Universe's Skylanders and Disney Infinity.
