lol man I LOVE the Portal series. But I agree, all the games I played Co-Op I preferred co-op (though I'm normally a natural loner in MMOs; good at making friends and helping others out but usually am off doing my own thing). I loved Mass Effect 3's multiplayer, where it's all co-op instead of deathmatch. That was a great idea, I thought... however I got so good at it with my Geth Infiltrator with my Geth Submachine Gun that people started disliking me. Not even meaning to I'd tend to get 75 kills per match on non-gold difficulty (and was usually the only one remaining alive through gold difficulty, though I couldn't win it alone since I was busy trying to keep everyone revived). I think 75 kills is like half the level's enemies haha.
While I am happy that Borderlands 2 is selling strong I kinda dislike Gearbox after the reception of Aliens:Colonial Marines. I have heard rumours that they made the game in three months in order to get Borderlands 2 out and that is just unacceptable.
I'm really bummed that everyone says that game is bad. It will probably be mid-April by the time I get to play it, but I'm hoping I like it better than most people have so far, being such a massive fan to the movies. I'm personally pretty annoyed with Capcom, myself.
You know, I've only played a little bit of Bully (didn't own it, only had one night to enjoy it) and none of Alan Wake, myself. I was playing a lot of Mega Man Zero lately, and am up to Zero 4, but kinda been distracted with 6 Seasons of Dexter, since I've never seen that show and people were starting to ruin things for me, lol. But hey, I hit Season 4 tonight so I'm already over halfway to gaming again, haha.
It was pretty open world; I can't remember if I could leave the campus or not but I definitely know I could wander the campus all I liked. It was University Edition or whatever it's called, that much I know. Honestly, I should really buy it when I'm back in town since they still sell new copies here in my state. Only reason I didn't is because I get SUPER addicted to Rockstar Games, where I won't do anything else for like 7 months straight, hehe.
It's funny becuase I was playing Bully and I had like three glitches in a road. They were Walking Dead style glitches with things floating, repeating screens, and the whole screen turning green for a minute. I thought i hard to hard reset my Xbox
Haha neat, I love some of them Rockstar glitches. I was really all about the flying ghost cars in GTA3 and the rolling ghost cars in San Andreas. But boy, that would have sucked if you had to hard reset — I've had to do that a number of times in various games (probably more to do with my console than the games since it just occasionally freezes — not often, but still often enough to be aggravating).
I remember when I used to play World of Warcraft on an older laptop that could barely support it. After about an hour it would seemingly crash, and would leave me with a black screen for 1-2 minutes before coming back on in a form I liked to refer to as "Glitchworld". In this form all of the skins were misplaced, so I would often get trees made out of human skin, plains made of lava, rabbits with orc skins, etc. The most disorienting thing would be that my bag inventory was now THE SKY. I had to look up into the air to view and select stuff in it.
To be honest, I have always missed that "version" of the game.
Oh My God that's amazing! I never have expierienced a glitch like except in Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition. When you have really bad connection with the other player the funniest things will happen. Getting stuck in walls is nearly my favorite but the best has to be walking in air.
Haha yeah Glitchworld of Warcraft was seriously amazing...except it was difficult to deal with PVP sometimes when both the world and the enemy characters were made out of cobblestone, making them virtually chameleons haha.
I've really been meaning to pick up and play Minecraft one of these days; I still haven't though. Is it as amazing as everyone always claim? I had a group of friends on a private server who dug out a mountain and filled it to the brim with TNT, and then set it off. It crashed every last one of their computers. Even when they restarted they couldn't get on the server for another hour or so as the explosions were still going off and so massive that it still had the server crashed, lol. Guess it blew away half the mountain.
Well, I'm definitely pretty obsessed with my achievements. I remember spending 3 months on a single achievement from The Maw, where you had to play 6 times in one day — at "breakfast, brunch, lunch, dunch, dinner, and midnight feast". Beating the game every day, six times a day, when I had already beaten it and it was a simple Xbox Arcade game. That's beating the game...jeez, roughly 540 times? That actually means I've beaten it more times than I beat Super Metroid in high school (~500 times). O.o
Hell ya that counts. I remember seeing an achievement in the game Limbo where you had to complete the game with five or less deaths and in one sitting. It only was 10 gamerscore. Im not gonna do the achievement if there's nothing to it.
I'm what I like to call an achievement whore, but yeah, screw that Limbo achievement, hahaha. I'd sooner play a Barbie game rented from Red Box or Blockbuster for an easy 4-hour 1000 points (I've never actually done that but I've been tempted, JUST to finally beat my friend's gamerscore lol).
The only games I am absolutely obsessed with getting 100% achievements on are the Silent Hill games, since those are the only ones I've succeeded in getting 100% in (in both Homecoming and Downpour, but not HD collection yet).
Hey, do you know if they announced whether or not the 720 is going to keep 360 gamerscore tally? I'd really hate to start over again...
No they have not. Anyway, You still have a Blockbuster in your nieghboorhood? I envy you. Also have you seen the leaked Metal Gear Solid 5 gameplay demo? I have never played any Metal Gear Solid games and just might get a PSVita if I can play Peace Walker on that, but holy crap that was gripping.
Well, here's to hoping they allow merging of scores. We do in fact have a couple Blockbusters, though I'm entirely uncertain how they've stayed in business all this time, haha... then again, this is Alaska and we're like a decade behind everyone else it seems sometimes.
I have not seen any gameplay for MGS5, actually. I personally played Metal Gear on the NES (wasn't good at it) and Metal Gear Solid (wasn't great at it, but Saiko Mantis was the coolest boss, probably EVER). And I think I watched...was it Snake Eater? at a friend's. Always respected the series, though. I wouldn't mind seeing something on it, definitely.
Haha, I can believe it. Definitely don't skip Saiko Mantis cutscenes though. They're some of the most trippy cutscenes in any video game ever (only beaten I would say by pretty much the entirety of Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem).
Thank heavens, because after 7 years I just don't get anything out of World of Warcraft anymore, and I love my games to be entire worlds to explore like MMOs. But man, that still absolutely ticks me off. I'd rather have Disney go under than LucasArts any day of the week. I guess I'll never see my dream sequels to either Full Throttle or Grim Fandango. :/
I hear that Star Wars Episode 7 was supposed to involve resurrecting Vader or something? Any idea of that's true?
Well, I love DV and he was amazing in the Force Unleashed games, but I am a firm believer that when you kill off a character, DO NOT BRING THEM BACK. It's why that one Star Trek movie, the one with the most man feels at the end, is complete worthless trite to me because, OH, MAJOR CHARACTER DIED. TIME TO BRING HIM BACK NEXT MOVIE. No. Let him stay dead, as much as I like the character. It makes the moment mean so much more. Actually, I cannot think of a big "major character dies!" moment in Star Trek where they didn't make it cheap by either having it be an alternate version of the character or have a copy of the character lying around or simply resurrecting him on some magical planet. It's... it's bad writing, I guess is what I'm saying. No one beyond 6th grade should probably be writing those sorts of crummy plots.
This is the first I've heard of this "Purge". I might have to go look it up, considering I'm into scary stuff (BIG Silent Hill fan, formerly BIG Resident Evil fan -- aka of the old RE games -- fan of Eternal Darkness & DooM, fan of the demo of F.E.A.R. though I never bought the series, fan of Dead Space... okay, I'm done listing because I'll just go on and on... not a big fan of Clock Tower, Siren or Slender, though).
Disney will probably ressurect Vader because I can not think of any other possible idea for a new plot. On the other hand, remember when Disney used to be good? Pixar was at the height of their game and then Cars 2 came out and pretty much screwed everything over.
The Purge is about a new America where crime is at an all time low, and employment is at 1%. All because for 12 hours each year, every crime is legal. It's a pretty scary idea, I've stayed up countless nights just thinking if that would work.
There were old books that followed the two children of Han and Leia, whom the original third trilogy was considered to be made for. However in my opinion those books were kind of terrible. Maybe I missed the good ones, though. Also in the expanded universe the Emperor returns in a clone body, but Vader never does; with that in mind it could follow Luke, though if Mark Hamill didn't play him I would be highly upset (he'd just have to be obviously way older and a Jedi Master by that time). They also have the Yuuzhan Vong War to cover. And heck, every single Star Wars story has its own Darth Sidious and Darth Vader and don't actually use much imagination (Darths Revan and Malak, Darths Vindican and Malgus, etc), so they could easily just make another Vader copycat character.
That sounds interesting, though, Purge. I wonder if we'd all become monsters for a day in a world like that..? Not sure I would, even to, say, steal a stockpile of awesome food or something. I'd rather bunker in and stay safe from the looters and raiders, I think. Not risk my own personal safety for some free food, lol.
The thing about the new Star Wars sequels is that Disney knows everyone is pissed about it but they are still going to do it anyway and people are still going to see it. I really wish that people were more original these days especially for movies but you know movies have been going on for nearly one hundred years so I am not suprised. Most companies strategies these days are slap a sequel onto everything. Hell only a few good movies have come out so far this year. But maybe all the good movies will come at the end of the year like 2012.
Well, they do say that there are only something like 7 different ideas in all forms of storytelling media which have been repeated over and over for centuries (as in, every last piece of storytelling falls into one of those 7 categories). I don't mind sequels too terribly much (I mean, I grew up on the Mega Man and Legend of Zelda series, so I'm accustomed to 50 sequels lol) but what I really hate is when they don't put any damn effort into the games. We've waited 2+ years for this, man — make it worth the wait! Even Blizzard seems to be losing track of this, which sucks because they were the company best known for quality products despite them taking forever to get released.
Also yeah, Disney are a bunch of jerks. Just like EA, really.
As for 2012 movies I didn't get to see any of them, myself, darnit. Because there's another guy in town with the same first and last name as me and it's a pretty unlikely name jobs looking to hire me will see it and think I'm some sort of a horrible person, so I was "unemployable" for a year. It was really frustrating; couldn't go see movies, couldn't buy many new games, couldn't do anything fun because I had to ration my money towards rent and my 1 packet of ramen a day. -_- But I have a job now finally, which is pretty lax and I get $10 an hour (less than I was making at my last job but also lots of downtime and a relaxed atmosphere so still worth it since it's $90 a day), so it's back into the fun fray for me! ...finally.
WOW. That's sad. I can't believe that that happened to you. Is your life better now? I'm a pessimist after I got bullied so much I had to switch schools and all this crap happened. I don't have the most amazing life but at least it is an improvement.
I suppose it depends on how you look at it. I had to move 250 miles away from home for this job which means I pretty much won't be seeing my friends anymore, and I really don't make hang out level friends very easily or very fast. There's also no real easy way to connect to Xbox LIVE here, so there's a lot of stuff I would like to do here but can't. I can definitely afford to eat, though now, although there's only one restaurant in town and I'm more likely to still just eat one real meal a day and then head to bed or sacrifice feeding time for game or net time (since I don't have too much of it outside of weekends, as with most people). But, I'm making money, so hey, there's that. There also really aren't any females here that aren't either 14 or 40. OK, there's one cute girl I've seen here but I'm pretty sure she's dating my boss, so, ehhh no.
I've been a pessimist most of my life, though with significantly more childish origins. I used to ask my mother if we could go places and she would say "Sure, a little later though." and the like, and then would never take me there, like she assumed I forgot about having asked. So I came to the then-logical conclusion that if I never expected good I wouldn't get let down and therefore I would always be happy (← an obvious flaw in my 9yo thinking, haha).
Well at least you are better than you used to be. Was your childhood better than your adulthood? My teenage years have been horrific.
6th Grade was perfect for me and then 7th Grade happened. I did Wikia becuase I always had wanted to do it when I was 13. I have so much drama at school. (Like high school drama) I moved to some school where every person is rich and I'm middle class. But at least I'm OK. I'm not super depressed like I used to be.
Prepare for GREAT WALL OF TEXT... because I really don't know how to NOT produce a wall like this (which is why I will never have a Twitter feed lol):
I wouldn't say either was all that fantastic for me. I moved around a lot (rarely stayed in a school for a full year until junior high) and was a small, awkward kid so didn't ever have any real friends. Finally met a person I felt close with in 3rd grade, but moved away half-way through the year. Was picked on severely as a child. Eventually was reunited with them at the beginning of junior high, but half-way through a far newer friend "said something" to them (never did find out what) and the person never spoke to me again. I spent the rest of my school years trying to "win them back", only the few times I came face to face with them I clammed up and never said anything. Was picked on a lot after that friend and I had that falling out in junior high but that eventually stopped once a friend of mine committed suicide who also knew the head of security, so she started watching out for me.
I got picked on in high school as well, but that eventually slowed to a serious crawl after Columbine because I was a trenchcoat wearer and had my group of friends starting to follow suit just because I looked good in a trench they thought, and much of the school started referring to us as "The Alaskan Trenchcoat Mafia". A lot of people thought I was a severe stoner because of my grogginess from it being early morning and from showers making my eyes red, which made the stoner clique eventually "worship" me on occasion ala Wayne's World. Many other kids thought I was a 35-year-old staff member because I had biker hair so looked way older than I was, I guess. I had friends of mixed cliques including football team and the wannabe gangsters and the dude who called in the bomb threats, but it didn't officially increase my popularity. I had the first real group of friends I'd had during this period, which is also the same group of friends I have now, plus and minus a few extras. However, despite that a lot of girls seemed to hit on me or flirt with me over the 3 years I went, I didn't have the know-how or smoothness to follow through with that and did not get myself a girlfriend, and then I was out of school early and then, an adult.
As an adult I immediately chose to "take a year off, because going to school sucks", which ultimately led me to never succeed in getting enrolled in a video game making school, unlike that cousin I talked about before (we're only 30 days apart in age so we were graduating at the same general time). A friend of mine accidentally left me on his sister's contact list when he got on hers because he forgot his own password and wasn't at his default home (his parents had split 6 months earlier), which led to me getting a girlfriend finally. However, she cheated on me within 2 weeks with my then-best friend, in my bed, while I was also resting in it. Ironically, that led me to become completely tight-lipped about my relationships to any friends or really anyone at all (because me having told my best friend I had a girlfriend finally because I was excited about it is how he met her), which would eventually destroy my 2nd relationship. 2nd relationship lasted a few years but she also cheated on me within a month with a close friend, and again later on with my new best friend. Needless to say, I'm generally quite wary over my best friends these days. Not considered particularly interesting to females, and while I do enjoy alone time probably better than the next person, it still is a relatively lonely life. Those few girls who show interest in me are either A) Underage or B) Completely Batdookie Crazy and really not my type in any fashion.
Within a few months I'll have reached an age where it's considered pathetic to continue to act childish and where everyone's supposed to have grown up and had children and careers by then, and I've yet to really accomplish anything fantastic. Outside of killing something like a quarter of a million giant insects in the EDF games, of course. And saving quite a few worlds several times.
Personally, I actually yearn for the high school days again.
I want to be when I was ten again personally. There were really no giant problems and I was not getting bullied. I remember me and my friend Jackson (Who I get in touch with any more) would have a creative film class and then I would got to his house and watch Adventure Time and play Happy Wheels. I'm scared to play Happy Wheels at my house because my parents saw my brother play it and got super pissed at me, so I guess I'll never have something like that again.
I don't want to go to a video game-making school because personally I do not want the stress. I saw Indie Game:The Movie with my dad and he hates games but man was he interested. If these guys fail, their life is over. I always feel sorry when an indie game gets a bad score because then their screwed.
True, but unfortunately for me there is literally nothing else that actually interests me enough to spend my entire life devoted to it. I would prefer to work for a "real company" like Toys For Bob or Crystal Dynamics, those sorts (preferably a company not under the thumb of EA, however), but then I know for a fact none of my personal game ideas (of which there is a plethora of) would ever see the light of day.
Man, I don't even think Adventure Time came out until I was an adult...haha, I feel so old. As for Happy Wheels, I've heard of it once or twice before but never got to play it; my last probably 4 computers haven't been able to handle Internet apps very well at all. Can't even log in to one of the (presumably still many) oekakis.
It doesn't really seem to be the computer specs. It's just that my computers can't handle flash or java-based programs. They'll typically just never load. I'd say it has more to do with the fact that I kill my computer's fans within 2 months of getting it and the rest of the time it's simply overheating. I seriously run my computers straight into the ground. >.>
My PC can run flash games but I rather prefer console. Oh yah, Injustice came out and I got it. If you want it you should get it, but the plot is crap and the single player is a little but short and if you dont have a friend you can not play co-op. So I probably would not get it considering you do not have any online capabilities but they do have challenges and stuff but I would not go into the single player twice.
Yeah, I not only have no access to XboxLIVE but I also don't have any friends up here yet. Oh, AND my mom just broke our Internet at home this afternoon so I'm stuck having to use the net here at work in my off-hours when the building is closed down. -_-
I brought my Xbox down here to the laundromat portion to try and hook it up and see if it works but it seems that the remote I took out of the main building before I locked up doesn't alter the channels on this TV down here or really work at all. I will attempt again tonight after my late shift ends again but I'll try and figure out which remote at the cash register is for this laundromat TV. Because if I can get it to work here and get on LIVE here... that would be amazing. 'Sides, I need to install American McGee's Alice to my system. Alice: Madness Returns' achievement list demands it!
Oh crap. that must suck. Well I hope that the ZZquil suggestion I gave you worked cause I want to help you out in any way.
I have had one of my friends talk to me about Alice. She loves it and is going to get it next year and she is estatic. I recently saw Pewdiepie play it and it looks fun. Is there any other content than single-player? Unless it's something like Limbo or Bioshock Infinite IDGAF about multiplayer.
Not that I've noticed; both American McGee's Alice games seem to be completely single-player (I played the original when it came out and it's one of my top favorite games ever made, and my absolute favorite iteration of the "Alice in Wonderland" universe -- of which I've always been a big fan -- that has ever been created; can't even picture any other Cheshire Cats anymore, always the mangy one from these games).
I'll likely get on for a couple hours tonight after I get home in like 15+ minutes or so, and I'll make sure to check for you.
I didn't see it in the game on my last two game sessions (last night and this morning). Read a forum that stated they were sure it wouldn't have multiplayer in it (which makes sense to only be single player for an American McGee game, since they're sort of old-style psychological horror, like the Silent Hill before Silent Hill). The wikipedia article only states single-player in its modes section of the inset, as well.
Thanks. Also I got really pissed today. I did not know that Monaco was delayed the week of it's release date. I was so excited for that game. Oh well. (EVEN CRITICS GOT IT! UGH!) Reminds me of Half Life 2 on the Dreamcast.
I've not heard of Monaco yet, although I have both good news and bad news on my own end.
1) Good news: My mother went to "town" (Fairbanks, 110 miles away) and bought a new Internet USB thumb stick while I was at work today, so I can have Internet at home again.
2) Bad news: Since she went on her own and didn't take me, I didn't get to pay off all my reserved video games to prepare to have them getting mailed to me. OK, so that's not really bad news to you, but it is for me. Also, that means I couldn't replace my nice pen that my boss stole from me the other day. He actually stole my other one today too, but left it in the back and so I successfully stole it back. They are remaining in my pocket(s) henceforth from now.
Aye, but he isn't the first boss of mine who has done that. Coincidentally, both bosses stole the same pen type -- the one the recent one stole was in fact my replacement for the pen my boss before him had stolen.
That's... a darn good question. I know that it isn't a Bic brand pen, and the name has a "-5" at the end of it. It should be easy enough to find at, say, Office Depot or OfficeMax, but I don't live anywhere near either of those two places anymore. I think they come in packs of four, with black (I know), and probably blue, green and red, but only the black one is useful to me. I probably have the other ones SOMEWHERE but good luck to me finding them (also, they're not BLACK).
You should get one of those combo pens if you can where it is four colours in one pen and you click the color to use the color. Though after telling me that you do not live anywhere near OfficeDepot, that might be a conundrum.
