Yeah that's true. I've never ever used Amazon myself (heck only recently realized it was for more than just books now, lol); I've always gone to Gamestop and more recently Best Buy if they have cooler preorder items.
Man I love my Gamestop. The people who work their love their job. But I know that is a rare experience. I have seen people complain at Gamestop for having employees who know nothing about video games. I guess I'm just lucky. And if the PS4 does not have used games. Gamestop will die. Including mine. I will be so pissed at Sony.
I was actually in a World of Warcraft guild with my frequented Gamestop; unfortunately they all quit suddenly and left me high and dry and started apparently not knowing who I was (despite the fact that they knew beforehand and had gone to face-to-face guild meetings and was actually one of the most widely seen members of the guild). It was a really weird situation. Now I just act like I don't know any of them personally, either. Which I guess is good, because I owe one of the them some money for choosing to buy me WoW time cards when I was flat broke, haha.
Why wouldn't the PS4 have used games? Trying to make it illegal to sell them that way or just utilize direct downloads?
The PS4 will not have used games to prevent piracy. It's just rumour's but if true, that is bull. i want a physical copy of my game, not a downloadable one. Except if it's Battleblock Theater. That game is freaking amazing.
Another one I've not heard of, although as I mentioned before I don't even own a PlayStation 3 yet, lol. But yech, I like my physical game collection on a shelf, thank you very much. I mean, the vast majority of it being physical copies. And I pretty much ONLY buy used games (or reserve them) so it'd pretty much kill their sales to me, especially since I can't hook up my systems to the net where I currently live (like, literally at all).
I can't support that, Xbox -- unless I somehow eventually move back to a real town I won't have access to Xbox LIVE again, which would mean no new games for me, like, ever.
Nice! I wish I had actually gotten a chance to play that series. I reserved Arkham Asylum and I have the LE batarang set, but by the time I had an opportunity to play it I was moving to Minnesota and the airlines wouldn't let me take my Xbox and games with me at all. When I came back it was locked up in some storage locker somewhere and I still haven't located it, so didn't play the sequel when it came out either since I wanted to play them in order. Doesn't mean I can't reserve this one too and set it aside for a thousand years until I find my Arkham Asylum, though...lol.
And that means, since I haven't played Urban Chaos either (or I think even heard about it until recently), I really have no way of knowing whether Rocksteady's removal means the game will suck. But they did help with Arkham City, so here's hoping it isn't god-awful. Comics really need some more great games based on them. If I see one more Superman 64, I swear to the New Gods themselves...
Dang, I find cheesy final bosses kind of a let down. Usually a big let down but sometimes only a minor one, depending on the game. What's worse is when they're simply EXTREMELY CHEAP, like they're cheating. For instance, the final boss for Dead or Alive 3. He cheated to give you a false "challenge". Ugh.
Now that I have a regular flow of income again, I'll definitely see about picking up Arkham City when I'm in town tomorrow, then. And if I'm lucky (see: have enough money in my wallet at the time I go into the store), the new Gears of War.
I only got to check on one Gamestop and only for a few minutes. I didn't see any copies of Arkham City (LEGO Batman was the closest this one had lol); I didn't see Tomb Raider nor Bioshock 3 but they may have been in there and I just overlooked them, since I was rushed. I did find GoW: Judgment so I picked that up, and made sure to pick up Alice: Madness Returns since I was a huge fan of the original game. I'll be back down there in a month and will have way more money and time, though.
Oh also have you heard of wordament? It's a free word game available on your smartphone and it will actually give you gamerscore on your Xbox. If you play the PC and iOS versions, thats an easy 100 gamerscore.
Yeah, that's entirely possible. I did find out though that that specific Gamestop actually will mail games to you instead of you needing to pick them up for a $5 fee (because of all of the people who live in The Bush, aka in the wilderness hundreds of miles from a real city). That means I never have to really go outside again! Hooray sorta! lol. Playing GoW Judgment myself at the moment, it's pretty cool so far. Short levels but hoping it makes up for that in quantity.
Well, the thing is is that the Internet we have here is on a thumb drive, which you need to open and physically click a little square-shaped program that installs to get it to activate, as opposed to going in normally to where you have the status bars and connecting from there (it will not connect if you try that normal method at all), so it is extremely unlikely to work with the Xbox. The neighbor has a connection but there's so much distance between the houses that the conn is terrible, and it'd probably take like 10 minutes just to load a Mass Effect 3 multiplayer map. There's free wifi at the restaurant and at my work, but I don't think I can drag everything down to the restaurant (they'd probably frown about me bringing a TV in there lol). Work, though... if I'm ever off for a day and go to do laundry, there's a television downstairs in the laundromat that I might be able to hook up to. Maybe I'll try that...
I, personally, like Judgment. The levels are pretty short, which kind of sucks, but it seems to be making up for it in quantity. I've only ever found 1 COG tag per level (can't recall if there's ever been more than 1 per) and there's 48 in the campaign, which would indicate 48 levels — that's PRETTY close to what Earth Defense Force 2017 had, which was a super simplistic game but had a massive number of levels and is one of my personal favorites). I personally know there's over 32 levels in the game as that's how many I beat last night. They have this function called Declassify that is on the wall at the beginning of every level or right before the action will start up, which allows you, by accepting the conditions, take handicaps for the level to unlock how the story is supposed to take place (like how in one level the wind is super high level and affects movement and shots, as well as visibility to some extent, and in another one you have to either slaughter all the Serapede egg pods or presumably get swarmed my large amounts of the creatures; there are also timed Declassify missions, where you have to reach the exit or kill all of the enemies in a set period of time, usually 4 minutes). Each chapter they have you playing as a different character with the other 3 main characters helping you out, but they all seem to play roughly the same. I plan on beating it tonight here.
Oh man. I've been a gamer essentially my entire life. I got hooked when I played Zelda 1 when I was 6 (I had played Mario and Duck Hunt before then but would still rather go outside and play before Zelda caught me). I've owned systems and computers since junior high school. While I absolutely must focus on a game all the way through in order to complete it (else I get distracted by another one), I have completed maybe a few hundred games in my lifetime. I should really make a list sometime... I've played and beaten games from the NES all the way to the 360 and Wii. Oh, and some arcade games when Chuck E. Cheese's was the absolute best place to be.
I actually had to move here because it was the only place that was willing to actually hire me. Couldn't get a job in my own hometown, eventually ran out of money after around a year or so, had to move in with my ex and her boyfriend and their kid(s)... it was really a cruddy and cliched situation. Well, maybe not cliched... but it should be a cliche. Spent a lot of time hiding out in my room playing video games but the boyfriend would relatively often burst into my room (no locks) drunk and want to wrestle. The living room TV was right up against the same thin wall I slept against and they cranked it to a volume of 50, too. Good thing I have an expensive pair of Bose headphones and some thunderclaps on repeat I can play or I would never have slept. I'd also have Yo Gabba Gabba whateverhappensonthatshow stuck in my head probably permanently by now.
Yeah, it's beautiful here, which is a plus. It is hard to sleep 2 of the 7 days though because there's an older male here who is as loud as a bullhorn because he's going deaf. His schedule also conflicts with my own. Have to run a fan next to my head on full blast to drown him and his Volume 50 TV and it doesn't always work, ha.
I'm kind of getting used to only 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night. Then again, I've also been downing medium-strength coffee like the Dickens. It frightens me to wonder what it'd be like if I downed a cup of the strong stuff at work instead, lol...
Do you still have those Bose headphones to block the old man? That would be a solution.
About sleep. I feel most of the time when I am tired and sit on my bed and should go to sleep I just sit there. I know that when I go to sleep I am just going to wake up immediatly and there is nothing to it.
Oh yes, I certainly still have them, but he's THAT loud that I can still hear him through them unless I loop thunder claps all night through them. I also toss and turn at night so I'm always afraid I'm going to break them in my sleep somehow.
With me, I'm a bit of an insomniac. I need to wait until I actually feel the right kind of tired, then go to bed — if I go where my brain isn't exhausted then it immediately turns on full blast and ravages me with, usually, the same single line from a random song, rapidly repeating, for up to ten hours. My brain becomes so active fighting trying to sleep that I actually cannot sleep at all because of it. It really sucks.
Do sleeping pills work? I have had sleeping problems before because of my allergies. Might be because you have some allergies but again I do not think there is a lot of pollen in Alaska. Majority of it is in California.
I haven't taken any sleeping pills before outside of melatonin about 10 years ago. I am allergic to pollen but this is an entirely year-round aspect, and ~seven months of the year we're covered in snow.
Never heard of it (though I don't regularly watch television so don't see commercials for stuff); I'll have to see if we have it around town here. I -know- we have that new 5 Hour Sleep at my work though I haven't tried that either. If I can't find that ZZquil though I'll see about grabbing one as I head out the door sometime.
I just realized something. If you had Internet connection we could join and be friends on Xbox Live. If you do not want to do it, fine that's OK I just want you to feel better because you say that you have very little friends. I want to change that.
If this sounds stalkerish I'm sorry I just want to make you feel better
Haha, nah it doesn't sound stalkerish. If I can get my LIVE working I'll definitely let you know so I can add you. I know my username on there is Somarinoa though I don't know if the message will still show up for me for a friend request if it takes me 30 days to get LIVE working or longer. I guess you could always just send a request every month? lol... or just give me your username and I'll write it down so that when I get LIVE working again I can just send you a request myself.
